wow, we got our very own page on myspace.com, how about that?Alone on a desert island is a concept that has always fascinated me. The idea that if you were to remove all the pretenses of society and what you believe you should be doing and what you believe is expected of you that you would become by removing these restrictions free to simply enjoy the moment and "drop your guard" is one that i try to live with everyday. Alcohol helps, but meditation is better (no hangover)…
Anyway, on this desert island the songs you would be left with would be the ones you remember. And if you had a guitar (or any other instrument that you had an idea how to play), they would be the songs you remember the chords to. And if you were with someone else, they would collectively be songs that fit the above profile.
Zach Sands and i were bored and musical, a fascinating combination which matched the surroundings of MacArthur Park, a neighborhood known to many as an easy place to score some crack. It was in this location that the experiment ensued; the island was the building of 2892 w 7th street, the catalystic alcohol flowed like the metaphorical water surrounding this island, and the subjects were given an acoustic guitar and a yamaha pss-270.
With this i give you the results unadulterated (and if so, due to a primitive recording process):
Here are some of the songs of the experiment entitled "cover me":
